Psychological Assessment and Evaluation
Although Dr. Perkins specializes in forensic assessment, he is also able to provide a variety of psychological evaluations. Psychological evaluations can be done in a number of different contexts and for a variety of purposes. Sometimes there are specific referral questions regarding the appropriateness of some medical intervention. Other times, people have more general questions about whether a specific diagnosis is appropriate or about characteristics of their personality that they want to understand better. Psychological evaluations will include clinical interview and psychological testing, and result in a report which provides a detail diagnosis as well as treatment recommendations. Some examples of the type of psychological assessments Dr. Perkins can do are:
- Psychodiagnostic Clarification
- Assessment of Intellectual Functioning
- Personality Assessment
- Pre-surgical Assessment
- Evaluation prior to Sex Reassignment Surgery or SRS (preferably known as gender confirmation surgery, gender reassignment surgery, genital reconstruction surgery, sex realignment surgery, or, colloquially, a sex change)
